Il play boy della vasca, ed ex ragazzo prodigio a Pechino, ha stupito tutti: in un video pubblicato su YouTube, il 19enne Tom Daley - campione nei tuffi dalla piattaforma di 10 metri - ha rivelato ai suoi fan di avere una relazione con un uomo. «Per tanti anni sono uscito con delle ragazze, ma in primavera la mia vita è cambiata moltissimo quando ho incontrato una persona capace di farmi sentire felice e al sicuro. E quella persona è un ragazzo».
«FELICE» - Il giovane atleta di Plymouth, nella contea inglese del Devon, è tra gli sportivi più amati, venerati ma anche invidiati del Regno Unito. Nella sua giovane carriera agonistica ha tagliato molti importanti traguardi: nel 2009, nello scenario del Foro Italico di Roma, è diventato campione del mondo nella piattaforma da 10 metri. Ha rappresentato la Gran Bretagna alle Olimpiadi del 2008 e a quelle del 2012.
La Bbc nominò Dalay il giovane sportivo dell’anno nel 2007. Recentemente, un magazine lo ha eletto «l’uomo più sexy del mondo», alla pari di Beckham, Ronaldo o Gosling che hanno qualche anno in più di lui. A Londra fece parlare di sé perché insultato su Twitter da un 17enne - poi arrestato - per essere arrivato quarto nel sincro dalla piattaforma dieci metri. Attualmente è la star del programma di Itv «Splash». Nel filmato su YouTube Daley sottolinea di essere ancora attratto dalle donne, ma di essere più felice con la relazione attuale.
